Radio Frequency Identification Research and Development Centre
The Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Research & Development Centre is an enterprise of International RFID Business Association USA in partnership with the African University of Science and Technology and Academia RFID Canada. The Centre was inaugurated and commissioned on December 2011 by the Board and Management of the Nelson Mandela Institution (NMI) lead by Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Honourable Minister of Finance, Federal Republic of Nigeria. We are located at the Material Science Building of the African University of Science and Technology (AUST) a Pan-African, coeducational, Research University located in Abuja, Nigeria. It currently serves as the focal point for Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Technology in Nigeria and the Sub-Saharan Africa, inspiring innovation and promoting the awareness and adoption of RFID Technology across industry sectors.
Our Mission
To become a leading provider of RFID Training and Capacity Building. To promote innovations and collaboration between RFID manufacturers System Integrators and the End-users. To provide impartial advisory and testing services to Public and Private Organizations in their evaluation or implementation of RFID solutions.

To be an internationally recognized leader in RFID Research and Development in Nigeria and the African Sub- Region.
